The Director General for Accreditation and Attestation of Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission has confirmed that the HEC now formally recognises ICM Graduate Diploma Awards (Level 6 on the UK National Qualifications Framework).

Chartered universities and degree awarding institutions in the public and private sectors in Pakistan will be permitted to offer tuition leading to the Graduate Diploma examinations as will those institutions registered with their Provincial Education Departments.

The ICM Graduate Diploma Awards have been assessed as being equivalent to Pakistan’s four year Bachelors degree.

Dr Alistair Somerville-Ford, the ICM Chairman, confirmed that this is an important step forward for many of the 6,000 Graduate Diploma students from Pakistan who, over the past ten years, have studied for an ICM Graduate Level 6 Award in the UK and Ireland whose Awards will now be recognised in their own country.
