Peter Rounce is ICM’s Technical Development Manager, responsible for the implementation of new technology at the Institute, leading to a more streamlined business process and general organisational efficiency.

Peter has been developing software professionally for the last ten years. He initially began his career in electronic design work, and then moved into software development for large consultancies before running his own financial software development business. His role at ICM will make a positive difference to the way ICM operates, over the short, medium and long-term.

Immediate tasks at ICM include resolving current IT support issues and renewing systems where easy gains are possible, such as increasing system memory and introducing fax to email.

Medium-term, Peter will concentrate on developing technical resources for ICM staff, including producing additional reports from existing systems, creating and implementing a knowledge base, and building internal case management systems.

On a long-term basis, Peter will be investigating the potential production of Student cards, the use of semi-automated form handling – making use of handwriting recognition technology as the business grows, and custom software to provide automated tools.

Overall, there will be an increased use of technology within the Institute, coupled with the development of in-house software to manage the huge amount of data handled by the organisation on a daily basis. Peter will be assisted by ICM’s new Software Developer, Jason Heuclin.

Outside of work, Peter is a keen aerobatic flyer and takes part in many competitions. ICM is sponsoring a two-week training course for Peter to help him fulfil his dream of flying in the British aerobatic team.
